Where: Tahoma One Drop Zendo, Whidbey Island, Washington
Cost: $375 (including room and board)
Accommodations include tent camping or simple dormitory. Please bring sleeping bag. Futon, extra blankets, and pillows available at the monastery. Bring pillow case. Everyone will participate in preparing meals. All meals will be vegetarian and eaten oriyoki style.
Please bring dark clothing appropriate for sitting in the zendo (tsumugi tops available at the monastery). We recommend layers for cold mornings and shoes easy to slip off. Also clothes for working in the garden (hat, gloves), and clothing appropriate for chakai. Kimono not necessary, but please bring fukusa basami, and white socks for the tea room.
How to get to Tahoma One Drop Zendo
For those taking the SeaTac shuttle to Whidbey, stay on the shuttle and get off at the Freeland Shell station. Call or text and we can pick you up from there.
For those arriving on Thursday morning, Hannah has offered to pick up at the airport and drive to Tahoma. Contact Hannah here for arrangements.
There have been some changes to the schedule. The Welcome chakai is scheduled for 3:30 on Thursday. Let us know if you cannot make it.
